Fund Raising Success!

We are delighted to announce that we raised a tremendous 1 700 € for Cancer Support France at the recent open garden day at Château Belet.

The owners, Alex and David Godwin, very generously flung open their gates to the public on Sunday 15th June and more than 400 members of the public came to visit their gardens and enjoy a day out browsing and buying at the various art, craft and garden stands, stopping for lunch from one of the two visiting caterers or a cup of tea with cake at the NEDWA run stand.

Nedwa member Ana Cellabos orchestrated the day, inviting artisans and crafts people to display their wares and organised the perfection of the garden.  Members of the Nedwa Committee worked alongside her to fine tune the event and several members and their families also participated in working on the tea stand, manning the gate etc.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to all those who participated - whether behind the scenes or as participating visitors to the day!

The following week, Josie and Bob Dean held an open garden and tea for members, displaying the wonderful photography of Andy Ayres.  A further 105 € was raised for the charity and again, we would like to say thank you very much to the Deans for their generosity.  The tea was fabulous and the afternoon greatly enjoyed by all.

The murder mystery evening back in April at Lanouaille raised a further 640 €, so all in all, Cancer Support France will be receiving a cheque in the sum of 2455.08 € from NEDWA, and the year isn't over yet!!
